I'm planning to visit Ithaca around Oct 7th and 8th. Still seems a bit early. May have to adjust.

I will be in New York 9/7 and 9/8 somewhere between Pitsburgh PA and Albany NY,9/9 in Cavendish VT and 9/10 and 9/11 in Franconia NH.

If you guys have exact location and date for GTG e/m me !

Yes, still too early, Nik.

I'm still planning to go out on 10/14 and 10/28...thought 10/28 will most likely be much too late for any color. Right now I'm seeing lots of rustic colors with some bright reds here and there. Mostly rustic though. I'm hoping it improves.

It seems there are no avaliable hotels in Ithaca during the entire October. What gives?

Looks like I will not be able to go after all. ahh.. man.

Unfortunately this is a common problem in October. There are a lot of school events between Cornell and Ithaca College and rooms fill up fast. Under other circumstances I'd gladly offer you a place to crash, but as we are still working through being new parents, I'm afraid my wife would leave me if we had house guests at this point.

You might try the Cortland or Elmira areas. There may still be some rooms available there.

Cortland seems to have availability for the weekend of the 14th....might check the rates and availability for the Country Inn & Suites by Carlson on Route 281 as that's probably the closest hotel to Ithaca...easy drive from there.

(If I make it up one of the weekends I'll be staying at Hotel Mom and Dad.)

At this point the 28th looks more likely. I see you've signed up for all of the weekends....you plan to do them all?

I hope I can make it, too! I'll be up sometime to (hopefully) close the sale on the house...so I'll stay in touch if I don't make one of the weekends. I miss the central NY gang!

So as the 14th is drawing near, have any plans been made regarding where we want to go, and when we want to meet?

I'm taking part in a nature photography field session at BU the morning of Sat the 14th and won't be able to make it to Ithaca until about noon. But I'm still game for the whole afternoon, until whenever.

I haven't chosen a location but sort of assuming Ithaca...? Unless others have preferences. Ithaca seems to have the most in one general location which makes it easier for larger groups.

I've only been to Ithaca once (actually, to Sapsucker Woods - only drove through Ithaca) so I've got no suggestions.

And no worries about the 8th.
