kodak dx3700 doesn't have any good modes ;}
but i make it work
so is a close up with it worth more than one from a better camera ?

i've already posted to that one
find the magnifying glass results in poor quality
i thought this was an individual photograph discussion?
my photo has merely been overlooked and posted over...

Soup, I like the composition, but there is something about the shot that feel flat. Perhaps more contrast or different lighting to to give more depth?

i will give it a go - with some different lighting
it was sunlight, filtered

I think the camera did a pretty good job getting close and focused. If you are going to convert to b/w, you are not limited to any particular light source, you can even mix and match to your heart's content. So, grab those lights and practice! |

TO me the shot is needing more contrasts, and as others said, different sources of light.
My current macro challenge shot was actually lit using a single small flashlight. So anything is possible. Esp. in B&W.. where white balance isn't as critical.
The shot I have posted in this forum, "too late for the macro challenge" was lit using a $5.00 mini light box. So almost anything is possible.
Interesting shot though.
