Well, it's status time again. Good news! It's starting to pick up!
We now have 8 "mentors" up and running with "mentorees", 3 more sets pending acceptance and 4 more potential mentors waiting in the wings. There are 13 more "mentorees" waiting for more "mentors" to volunteer. Any takers?
Just to let you all know, I am setting the expectation level on the low side. Treating this more like a "big brother/sister" type relationship rather than expert to beginner level. Time donated is totally up to the "mentor" (sorry mentorees). I've learned quite a bit from the experience and would hope more of you might want to give it a try. No specific expertise is being asked, if you have a specialty you enjoy and want to pass it on, GREAT!
The feedback I have received has all been very positive! (Thanks for the kind words of support!) So far, no real personality issues, but if one comes up, I have the solution - split up and move on.
Once again - Any more volunteers to mentor? (Please?)

what's involved and how long is the relationship supposed to last until the mentoree "graduates"?

This week's update!
We have 10 paired up mentor/mentorees!
4 more pairings are in "pending" mode (I have heard back from the mentor).....
8 mentorees waiting for more mentor volunteers (hint, hint)
And a new catagory created this week! I'm attempting a pairing of two people that both wanted to mentor and wanted to be a mentoree. This seems like an interesting experiment, we'll have to see how it works out.
Of the people that have gotten back to about this subject, all have been quite enthusiastic about the results. I'm very pleased. In the area of poor matchings, I've only had one complaint, a different mentoree was quickly offered and I haven't heard back since (no news IS good news, right?).
Thanks again to all the mentors!!! Still looking for more volunteers! More students are fine, too, just be a little patient.
