dear dpchallengers,
i've started photography as a hobby, a hobby which is getting more serious every day of my life. i've seen many works, as arts, and many as documents. and now i'm trying to implement my ideas. but i've come to this question "if photography is an education?", my idea till now was that a photographer must be educated of the things he or she is trying to say inside a single frame. but now i can see there are other things like light, different Lenses, filters and even edits that must be learned.
i've asked my art teacher, as an artist i believe in, i've asked one great photographer of my country. none of them believe in photography degrees. i've asked an advertising photographer, he has spent 6 years of his life, studying photography in a college as a degree, 6 years!! and he thinks classes and certifications are not enough. so i can say i'm a bit lost. IS PHOTOGRAPHY AN EDUCATION?
and if someone would be able to survive in the ART WORLD, as a non educated photographer?
