Hi all
I'm thinking of buying a Canon PS A620 and would like to hear from site members who own this model. I did read the reviews on pricegrabber but would much rather hear from dpc members.
Thanx! |

While I can't give a personal review, DPReview has an excellent, in-depth test on their site. The A series in general is very well thought of, and this camera is no exception. |

I love the A-series from canon, My Powershot A40 was awesome for a 2megapixel camera.
Try PM'ing levyj413 - He has taken some good shots with the 620.

I was toying with the idea of buying the A620 but in the end bought the A540. They're both very good. |

Have a look at my portfolio.
Keep in mind I'm a newbie, so don't set your expectations too high.
I'm on my way out just now, but maybe I can write something more complete later.
Cheers. |

I'll take my Canon A-620 over my Nikon Coolpix 5700 any day. The best feature of Canon is with just a flick of the thumb you can jump from B&W to color. Truly a great feature. I have no complaints and HIGHLY recommend it. A great field camera. You will enjoy ! ! ! |

I've been helping a friend choose between the A620 and the Fuji F30.
The F30 wins on compactness, and ISO capabilities. But looking carefully at the sample photos at DPReview, I think the 620 takes some of the best (sharpest and most detailed) pictures I've seen from a compact camera.
I think for the price you can't go wrong.

I like the flip-out LCD screen. There's a pretty good ISO range, and selection of f stops.
Switching between modes is easy.
Power is 4 AA batteries (nice!).
The camera is heavy for a point-and-shoot, but not uncomfortable in the hand.
I wish there was better zoom.
Recommended. |

I've helped three people in the last two months buy either the A620, or the A610 (same camera, 5 MP).
They really are nice cameras. I like that the zoom is a little more then average (4X vs. 3X) but still plenty bright. The flip-out LCD is a handy feature to have. And Canon is known for some of the best image quality out there.
If I didn't have a DSLR I would probably get the A620.

Hi all
Thanks for your input, I've ordered my A 620 (just been discontinued - can't believe it) and am impatiently waiting for it to arrive!
Bye for now |
