Nope. I don't even have a bank account. I let my daughter do all that for me. She doesn't have pay pal either. She won't allow any of her information to go over the internet.

I saw your newest hummingbird picture. It's very colorful. How did you do it?

Welcome to DPC! I am sure you will do great here. You have already made so many friends. I do not have any photos of hummers because I never see any around here. I have no flowers in my yard due to my daughters allergies and I am way too busy and lazy to garden. I look foward to seeing yours though.

Thank you for the welcome mandyturner. It's to bad you don't get any hummers. I don't have a lot of flowers either. I don't like to garden either especialy in the heat. I use feeders. I see them more with the feeders. Sorry about the allergies.

I have a lot of pictures to edit for here when I can put them up. I edited them to small for here so I have to redo them all when I have time. I hope you like them.

JOHNBOY1970 I can't do that. My daughter is very protective of her family and won't allow me to give out our address over the internet and we don't have a PO Box. We never needed one to spend the money for it. She won't let any personal information over the internet and I understand it. She doesn't even do shopping on the internet. When she thought I should join here I don't think she thought about the membership part.

I am so greatful for your generous offer. It's to bad they don't have gift certificates here for those like you and your kindness. I'm sorry it didn't work. It would have been great for someone in my position.

I had a nice entry I was going to take a picture of today for the no subject contest. I will probably still do it. Maybe I can put it somewhere else on the internet with some of my edited pictures.

One thing you will notice about this site - it has ages from 12 - 64. There is no age distinction here (we are all only 16 at heart LOL) and its international. All nationalities are represented and welcomed (except the ones from Canada and Iceland- they seem to win a lot of the competitions - but we wont talk about them in case they are listening).
Seriously - its agreat learning place to be.We argue, cry, joke, discuss, look at each others photos, discuss techniques and gear. A great place to start a whole new learning curve.
As far as scores - I wish I had a 6. You are doing great.
I'm sure johnboy 1970 will get the membership worked out for you - so welcome from the land of oz.

Just wanted to drop in and say hi as well...don't worry, you're not too terribly old; my dad's about your age and he is all over the internet. He's really into photography as well (though I haven't yet let him in on this site).

Anyway, I'm sure you'll feel right at home here, as all of these other people have already welcomed you, too. I sure hope you get your membership status all worked out so you can participate in member's-only challenges, too!

Good luck in future challenges, you're off to a great start already :)

Hi Ed,

Welcome to DPC I bet you will enjoy it. As you are aware by now, there are a number of unselfish photographers ready to help if you are in need.

Now let me introduce myself, I\'m a Mexican leaving in the UK with my family (a lovely wife and a beautiful baby daughter) so we are far away from home. I am not missing much really but the food and the sun :) I am a PhD student (and one of the oldest in the program at that) so I have to live again on a tight scholarship budget for the next three years.

In terms of DPC and photography, I joined back in 2004 and have been following the evolution of the site even if I don�t participate too often in the challenges. I have learned alot and there is so much to discover yet, maybe that is why I am interested in photography. From July, I commit myself to participate more and I hope to submit at least for three challenges a month. I love photography even though I don�t know much about it, my camera has now more than 14,000 pics registered so I have been busy :) and really need a new one (hopefully soon I will get a DSLR).

If you need something and I can help, feel free to contact me.
