When the discussion came up about having a mentor -- many of us jumped in all excited -- hoping to get one. Then I got an e-mail from Rob, the Swashbuckler and through that e-mail he offered to mentor me in learning the details of my F717. In the process, he started doing something that was really helpful and unexpected. He started commenting on every photo in my portfolio. It has been so helpful! Every few days, he adds another comment and gives me lots to think about. A newbie has since contacted me with questions and I have tried to do the same for her as well as return the favor to Rob.

I just thought maybe I could open the forum here for other people to connect up. Agree with someone else to each review the other's portfolio and comment on the photos. It's a very helpful gesture! If you are here to learn -- you indeed will learn a few things.

Best,
Renee

I second that! I guess thats why I started in this project of keeping the Photo friends/mentor program going! Every comment I get on pictures makes me think when I am taking another new picture that I want to be better, Like angles, color, light, shadows, settings, ect. I am working on pairing up photo friends, so if anyone is interested email me and I will add you to the list. Realize this though there are more mentees then mentors thats why the name changed from Mentor program to photo friends that will be kind of like a photography pen pal (commentor) buddy. I will be posting more info on all the interested canditates and with a match in a few days and sending emails out!
