I had pictured you being too embarrased to tell us you went to Vegas for an Elvis look-a-like contest.

Shame about your gear getting taken Steve, but glad you had the survival skills to have lived off the land.

*hugs*

Glad you're back Steve.

Maybe all of us on DPC could contribute $1 to help him replace his stolen gear. Any of the site council or langdon be able to set up a Paypal account or other vehicle to do this???

now i wish id not given my other camera away. it was not as nice as the 717, but it was quite capable. if i had it, id surely send it off to steve.

nice to see you back and kicking. do as all a favor, next time, just tell someone, or.....put lojack in your car...or onstar or something so you can be found

You probably don't know me either but I'm another DPCer who kept up with every single post on the thread about the search for you and was soooo relieved to hear of your safe return to your family and friends!

Welcome home Steve, so thankful you are safe.

....oh, and you need to update your profile to "No Camera"!!

Welcome back. Sounds like you have good survival skills.
But not a good sense of direction.
That's why Moses was lost so long in the desert. Wouldn't stop and ask directions.

Now that's a real "Old West" adventure. Pretty amazing tale from start to finish, no doubt!

If Steve wants to stick with his old friend the F717, keh.com has one used for $286.00

I'll buy ya a beer on my way to NM in late Oct, and what a cautionary tale yours is! Your guardian angels deserve a week in the South of France sipping drinks with umbrellas in 'em, so glad you didn't encounter any bad guys face to face.

Steve, I dont know you, but I am grateful you have returned to your family and your home, as well as the DPC community safe and healthy. Welcome back.

...wow... just......wow!
And, of course, welcome home :D

This really would make a great movie both as a tale of your personal saga and as a story of how a community of friends who, for the most part, have never met in person banded together to accomplish so much.
Truth really IS stranger than fiction!
