Depends on how its printed. I charge ~$48.00 for the print by itself (lustre finish), but much more if they want it mounted, mated or framed.

Yikes! LOL I won't feel bad about my $25 price tag then ;) I am trying to keep my prices affordable, yet worth my time. Most of my business is military families.

Thanks Cindi :)

Well it looks like I would pay $25 ... and that is a real bargain, even for military people ... I was one of them ;)

for an 8x10 the prices can be very reasonable, maybe $10 since most places like Sam's Club or Costco charge less than $2.00 to print 8x10's. But once you break free of the normal sizes, and especially sizes that most home computer ink let printers will not print, charge a little more of a premium.

Like idnic said, even $48 is cheap for a high quality luster or really any type of paper finish. $25 is too cheap. That's where a photographer hurts themself; don't look cheap, look good at reasonable prices. It would have to be a friend to let an 11x14 go for less than $40 and that is cheap by any standard.

Best of luck, I've watched many of your threads, looks like you enjoy it and have a great small business going!

How do you find smugmug? I'm trying to find a place to host my photos for clients that they can easily purchase prints, etc. Do you get a commission on the prints (or better, how much do you get from each sale?)

Also, was wondering if you've tried to integrate this with your own personal site, or just host there?

My site: www.davidmctavish.com

thanks!
(sorry for the hijack)
(and $25 is too cheap, 40-50$ is a better price, because they're not just paying for the paper & ink, but your creativity!)
