I don't think any more than the first two -- also done in conjunction with The Mouse. Part of the recent deal involves Pixar remaining creatively independent -- if anything, Pixar will probably be running the whole Disney animation department (whatever's left after the recent purge).

Yeah, i think they canned Toy Story 3 when the coup against Eisner happened and they settled with Pixar and got Steve Jobs on board.

no one's mentioned hunt for red october, patriot games, clear and present danger... to bad ford wasn't in the first one... baldwin sucked...

nor have i seen mention of spiderman, even though 3 isn't due out until next summer, you've got to admit that it's very rare a sequel is better than the original, but spiderman 2 rocketh mucho...

Terminator does not/will not count since there were only two movies... (and no... you will _never_ convince me there were three...)

Uhhh. Dumb and Dumber. That was a awesome trilogy. Duh. Wait, was there two of them?
08/11/2006 12:02:59 PM · #81
Actually, I don't think anyone mentioned X-Men. They were decent, and I really liked the last one.

When I was a kid, I loved the "Sissi" movies, all three of them. But the best ever is LOTR.

Did I mention that my mom worked on that movie? Her group did the looping (post-production vocals).

I can't believe so many men are picking LOTR, a trilogy where they decided to represent the ultimate triumph of good over evil by having the main characters jump up and down and hug each other... in bed...

I still shudder just thinking about it.

Nobody mentioned Robert Rodriquez yet?

El Mariachi
Desperado
Once Upon a Time in Mexico

and for kids: Spy Kids 1-3

how about evil dead; that movie was so great, they made a video game of it years later for xbox and playstation 2

Karate Kid. At least the first two were good.

How did you know that's the reason I liked the movie *Wink*

LOTR was good, but still needs to stand the test of time.

all IMHO

I still watch all three of the extended versions religiously, both the regular way AND the cast commentary.. all the way through.. I love those movies.

I pick the Children of the Corn.
The Bourne Trilogy (I have great hopes the 3rd will be as good as the first ones)
The Karate Kid (ok so "Daniel" started to lose it at the end but c'mon.. Mr. Miyagi ruled)
Austin Powers (not so much the first one, loved the last two)

I love Die Hard - I think he's doing a 4th though.
I love the 7th Voyage of Sinbad, got 'em all on VHS

I'm looking forward to the end of the Pirates of the Carribean trio too.

Best thing about that list is seeing movies that will be coming out first.

I'm shocked to see no mention of Sergio Leone's "Dollars Trilogy" (for want of a better name) with Clint Eastwood: A Fistful of Dollars, For a Few Dollars More, and The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly. These movies redefined the Western into a grittier mode and were singlehandedly responsible for the rebirth of the Western as a valid genre.

R.

Whoops, I see someone DID mention these :-) So I renominate them...

Come on people! Good choice!...if you like schtick. El Mariachi was sorta endearing in it's ultimate low budget feel. Desperado less so, but then they decide to go "big" in the third and completely fall on their face. I don't really see much positive about this trilogy at all...

I'm afraid I'm gonna have to go with LotR. Back to the Future was pretty consistent although I don't tend to like that type of movie as much any more.

My vote is for lethal weapon; despite the anti semitic undertones;

Also, Mad Max, Road warrior, and the tear jerking end to that trilogy, "steel magnolias"

what about the Jersey trilogy? clerks + mallrats + chasing amy (which i thought was awful) but i still love Kevin Smith and i must say that clerks 2 has a great star wars vs. lotr debate . . . well really randall pans lotr . . . it is hilarious

i love all the majors: lotr, star wars, back to the future (even the third one), indiana jones and THE GODFATHER (though the third one was sub par, I gave a standing ovation when Sohpia Copolla bit the dust)

In case you haven't figured it out, I'm a lifelong fan of "B Movies"; it's a quirk of mine. My quirk may be aided by the fact that I can't hear the dialogue, jejeje™
