I want some really artful stuff in challenges. What if we were allowed to use two images and overlay one over the other. Let's grunge some stuff up folks. Tired of sweet and happy. ;~p

What about starting an informal challenge with this thread? See what people are able to come up with by next Monday(?) and post the results in this thread.

one image...

Yeah, baby. That's what I'm talkin' about!!
08/10/2006 10:04:00 AM · #5
cheers. ok, i suppose that's a bit of a cheat - one image, but it was a window, so the reflections created more texture, and a built in grunge filter (the window was filthy)

Heh, filthy windows are cool, xian

this should be a real challenge with special rules
08/10/2006 01:27:09 PM · #8
Has there ever been a challenge here that was without rules? I want to think so .. if so, maybe a repeat of this challenge would work for artful/grunge/duplicate images!

A challenge with relaxed or no rules regarding multiple images would certainly be a welcome change! I LOVE layering textures and the whole grunge thing, so definitely count me in!!! :-)

YEAH!!!!!

I'd love a challenge like this.

Great idea - my only overlay attempt (so far)... still a big cheery I guess. Question - what do you guys use for the overlays?

08/10/2006 04:23:46 PM · #15
lol, did this a few weeks ago ...

is this dirty enough?

Sorry, not really an overlay, except for multiple passes of sharpening and film grain and dodge/burn

Pictures taken at the same locations, of filthy windows, scratched plexiglass, stains on mortar, cracks in bricks, ancient picnic tables, filthy spider webs, etc. etc. Makes for a horrible collection of pictures if viewed standalone, but a great collection of source images for blended layers.

My motto (besides "Burn their village!") is "You can never go too far or too fast"

I've been gone all day and come home to THIS??? Yeah, man. Let's have a no holes barred challenge. Anything goes. As long as you take any images used to overlay, or cut and paste into an image. I think it'd be wonderful. k

ART - you ARE the artiste!!!

And I feel pretty. Oh so pretty. :)

Sorry, I'm not really into grunge, but I want to learn more about overlay. This is one of my first attempts. I can see that it will save me a lot of time. I took the lamp posts after work, and the moon this morning. No need to go down the the parking lot at night anymore.
