Ok, I bit the bullet and did some self portraits without clothes! Now, technically these are not nudes because I'm not showing a whole lot but it took a lot of self-encouragement to put these up here! I would appreciate any comments you all might have.

Nice effort. I like the softness of the lighting. What was your source of light, natural?

No, it's a light my father-in-law made. Looks like a car headlight on a pole. I can adjust the height and direction so it works well.

I think relax looks way oversharpened to me. I do like the lighting though

Thank you both for your comments. I'm self-conscious so this was an exercise in bravery for me. I am still very new to this so I need all the help I can get!

It's a good start but all the limits background/body it looks like it has been 'cut'.

And the lower right part has the worst consequences of that. It looks like you have cut the border with scissors, like you would do if you would cut a page in a magazine.

I think you increased the contrast too strongly , maybe to hide the
background. Maybe too much oversharpening as well.

I hope I do not sound too harsch ...
Continue to try, continue to improve ... I think it's a long path.

I think you did a wonderful first attempt. Don't be ashamed to ask for opinions on them. I know it does take a lot to post a private part of your life here for all to see and I commend you for being so brave.

I applaud you for being courageous enough to do something that I could never do! Your self portraits are very nice. On the picture of your face, I would like to have seen more emotion. It looks like you're just trying to get the picture over with in a way. Have fun with it....you're doing a wonderful job!! :)

I really like the B & W Photos, the light is great in these photos too, And you have taken the photos very tastefully. I don't see anything wrong with them at all.

'hair' is really nice =)

Nice photos. I like the reverse / behind kind of shot. Seems innocent and unassuming. Nice lighting too.

nice pics. I like faceless, and hair, they are very well done. There appears so be some sort of "noise" or "object" in the bottom right of hair that a little distracting only because everything else is dark so your eyes are drawn to it. I agree with your facial reaction on the last one...you do look like you just want it over with ;) I like the lighting and the shadows alot. I don't know why but I think that I like faceless the best. Good job!

Lisa if you didn't find it yet, I sent you an email.

Lisa, You're off to a wonderful start. I like the first two, Faceless, and Hair. The lighting is very nice. The lighting in "Relax" makes it difficult to distinguish. Your body is almost abstract, and because of the perspective and light, your arms don't seem to fit right. I do like the side lighting on your face though.
Keep up the good work! :-)
