I keep reading people talking about being in camera cliques. For instance I know there's a Pentax gang. So my question is..

Where's all my Sony F707 homies?! Wooo!

I used to have a 707. It was my first decent digital camera. It made excellent photos and sometimes I wish I hadn't sold it. I miss the tilt LCD quite a bit.

The F707 set a very high standard at the time it was introduced. The fact that there are still 527 listed users here says something. It can still produce some very respectable results. Sony can be very proud of that one.

We are out here in the wide wide world, Michelle. The Carl Zeiss glass is still superb...would be nice to have a serious wide-angle.

So the poker game at your place this weekend John? My apartment is a mess and quite frankly, I don't even own a table!

It's my secondary camera after having been my primary camera for quite a while. Now my son (yakatyou) uses it. He wants my D70 even before I upgrade because he doesn't think much of the F707 (what does the brat really know?) I keep showing him examples of what a good camera it is.

A July issue of a major photomag (sorry, I can't remember which one) was expounding on the macro abilities of the point and shoot cameras over DSLRs, specifically their ability to shoot at the equivalent of f/64 for amazing depth of field.

I'm going to have to snatch that f707 back out of his hands and show him a thing or two.

My dad just got a Nikon D200 and I'm begging him to trade! He keeps talking about how he can't get it to focus at close range with the lens he has and I'm complaining that all my landscape photos are grainy.

I feel pretty limited with my F707, but I would still definately keep it as a secondary. It's been a great little camera for me.

Next step.. Sony Alpha?? Could anyone lend me 2 grand, please?

F707 should be a great Infrared producing camera. When I bought my first digital camera I wanted a f707 or f505 but ended up with the S70 which I still use today. It was much cheaper.

Some of the best photographers here either had a f707 or f717.

I shot with the f717 for about two years ago until about 2 months ago, finally moved into the DSLR world, but it is a wonderful camera and served me well.

I remember the days when everyone here had either a F707/717 or a Canon G2 :)
