| If it would of been recent. And even though not recent his laptop could of had personal information that could be obtained by the thief. Such as money, accounts, when and where he goes, and plans to go. Information you would not want a thief to have about you personal information and goings and comings. |

Steve lives in Mesa and left his home Sunday the 23rd, 7 days later he was sighted about 20 miles east of his house, 7 days after that he was maybe sighted 160 miles north west of his house. I'd love to stay a step ahead of him, but even if I assume the Show Low sighting is ligit, there is really no logical pattern to his path, especailly if you think about where he may have been on the days he has not been sighted.
I'll still look into contacting the forest service up there though as it can't hurt.

| The article said "apartment" - if that's the case, is there a landlord? Has the rent been paid and for how long? Though I do wonder about that, since I seem to recall the fire department had to break in. |

Hmmm, I've been following this thread off and on but never got the sense he might have left because of the issues mentioned in the article. If those are true before his disappearance then wouldn't the cops shrug this off as someone who wanted to disappear and as LoudDog has mentioned he has the right to do that? In other words, looking at the police perspective why would they devote resources to this case? Seems to me a private detective would be the next logical course. That or sit and wait hoping he decides to return.

| I hope he shows back up...but in any case (long shot of course), I am going to Sturgis, SD tomorrow for the weekend for the motorcylce rally...you never know he might be there...I am always one to look at lisence plates too...hum...bummer man! |

Another article about Steve
I had a friend that just up and walked away last week. Was found crossing the border into Canada. Refused to speak to loved ones when the border patrol got in touch with local law officials where he was reported missing. They had to release him because he had done nothing wrong. He is still missing.
Moral here: He is a grown man and decided to leave. I hope that Steve is just confused and wants a little alone time. Maybe he'll contact someone soon.

can i suggest that someone add a direct link to this thread to go along with the link to steves profile and the myspace page in the sticky message on the front page . then it wouldn't have to be bumped every 15 minutes..

Hi, all.
I just wanted to take a minute to thank all of you for posting information about Steve. I used to know Steve back when he lived here in Oregon and off and on by email after he moved, but we fell out of touch a few years back.
It wasn't until I read an article about him yesterday in the Stayton Mail (the same article which ran in the Statesman Journal, but I'd missed it) that I knew of his disappearance. I was just thinking a few days ago I should email him and get back in touch. I really, really wish I'd done it sooner.
I'll be watching this tread and the MySpace page for updates. I sincerely hope there is some positive news very soon.
I posted a note today on my daily photo blog - //willamettevalleydailyphoto.specialweb.com - about him. Figured an extra word out there wouldn't hurt.

Sending a ticket to the admins is probably the best way to do that. |

I dont think they can 'sticky' on the front page or it would have ben done already. It IS stickied on the General Discussion page. You can also put it in your watch folder. |
