Breasts are nothing more than some tubework and lumps of fat.

OMG, people that find that offensive need to get a life! That's an amazing photo that shows the natural bond between mother and child. I can't believe people would find that offensive, to each their own I guess but the way I see it, there's plenty of other high key issues going on in the world to get all bent out of shape about.

But you'd spend more time in jail for letting your child starve to death wouldn't you?

Look at it this way. Would you rather sit in a restaurant with a hungry, screaming child right next to you - or a quiet child with a boob in it's mouth?

Someday, if you're lucky enough to have children, you'll understand.

Someday, if I'm lucky enough, people will not pick out quotes and ignoring the rest. ;-)

I'd rather have no screaming kid, and no kid with a boob it its mouth. Am I not entitled to a preference without being belittled by someone?

I'll be having kids in a couple years when I am done school. And I will be lucky, cuz my wife also thinks breastfeeding is gross.

And I doubt anyone is stupid enough to let their child starve to death because they can't figure out how to open a can of formula.

Hey redsun.

Do some reading about nutrition before you start yammering about the benefits of formula.

If I were 'so lucky' as to have children, it would be an extremely rare thing. I also wouldn't let anyone smoke near my children either.

You say that you prefer not to have a kid, but then you say that you will be having kids in a couple of years...

Then you say that your wife thinks breastfeeding is gross.

Mixed up a little?

"I'd rather have no screaming kid, and no kid with a boob it its mouth."

I'd rather have no SCREAMING kid, or no kid with a BOOB in its mouth.

I never said I'd rather not have a kid. I'd prefer to have a kid that is drinking a bottle of formula, which it will be.

Is trying to make me sound stupid by telling me to read about nutrition really necessary?

You are entitled to your opinion, as is your wife

Disclaimer: the following links were found through google. I make no assertions what they say are scientifically sound since I'm to lazy to try and find the articles

about breast feeding

interesting story about breastfeeding and formula

There. I edited it. Feel better? I don't see how picking that part of your post was wrong as it was the only part of your post that I was addressing.

Read eschelar's post. Opening a can of formula isn't the cure all kiddo. Breast milk is so much more beneficial to the infant than formula. Perfect nutrients, boosts the immune system, more normal growth, etc. Don't discount it just because you don't understand it.

Sorry to assume you were attacking me, that's generally how it seemed to me (and what I am used to when talking about politics).

I'm not discounting breast feeding, but like most things, all the articles for something are generally written by people who are for it, and things against something written about people against it.
Maybe I will change my mind when I have kids, I don't know.

all this talk and discussion about breat-feeding can only be resolved by one thing, and one thing only - an experiment.

I hereby volunteer to simulate myself as the infant for a breast-feed. We will monitor the results of my health after 10 sessions. Now all we need is a lady to volunteer as the mother (milk is not required)

(now runs and hide with ears covered)

Thanks, but I do have a tndency to go a bit overboard with quick statements, sooo I do try to censor myself on occasion.

Now back to the Nudes gallery for me... Geez, I hope I don't see a breast I didn't want to see :-)

I think you'll probably change your mind when you do have kids. However, I also think when you do some research on the benefits of breastfeeding you'll find that the benefits aren't documented simply for the fact that someone is "for it". I'll make you a challenge. For every link you find that says that formula is better than breastfeeding, I'll find 5 links that say otherwise.

For what it's worth... I think I brought up the topic of american culture, but I didn't say I was ashamed to be an American (though that thought was expressed immediatetly after mine). I simply said that I think americans make too big a deal over breast feeding.

I lived in Brazil and I loved it there. It not only made me appreciate my homeland, but I also grew to appreciate theirs. I wish everyone could spend part of their life (and by that, I mean more than just "a vacation") outside of their own country. I think we would do well to learn to love another people as we've grown to love our own.

We now return you back to the thread topic... :-)

LOL ... not sure if idiots is the appropriate word, but it works for demonstration purposes :-)
