Hi,

I am getting ready to purchase my Rebel XT and I realize not long ago there was a $100 rebate. I am willing to wait if another deal like that comes around... just wondering if any of you know how often Canon offers rebates.

Technically speaking, you can't have another rebate "again"; one or the other :-) But to answer your question, they seem to do this several times a year as far as I can see. Still, look at it this way; if you have to wait three months, and then another month for your rebate check, that's 4 months without the camera = $25 a month to have it in your hands NOW. Is that so much to pay for the pleasure it will give you?

Yup. Plus the cameras are going down in price all the time, too. So you could just hang on forever until it costs nothing to buy, but you'll have missed out on all those great snaps.

Almost like computers, you can wait til next year ... they'll be 50% faster and half the price or ... if you need it or want to enjoy it ya can get it now and start enjoying it.

Canon seems to do the rebate thing twice a year - late dec to march and then early summer. Most often it's to clear out inventory before ht enew products are announced at PMA and Photokina.
Current Rebates end July 31

They might run them again the the fall, but I wouldn't expect that,with back to school followed by christmas.

We're going to Disney in October, I only really care if it's here by then. Back to school is very busy here so August probably won't leave much time for photography. ;)

I saw that; I wish the rebates ended on July 31! I'd place an order.. :D
