There are people here that have, and are dealing with the specter of addictions. This really isn't something that gets delved into too deeply here for the simple reason that it's not something that can be dealt with in a virtual manner, and it's a deeply personal and terrifying thing.

Yes, you can go into forums, chat, bulletin boards, et al, but realistically, you need close human contact, and assistance that you simply cannot get through a keyboard. There will always be people here who are willing to talk with anyone who wants to just talk, but that will not be a substitute for a real-world, live support system.

Doctors, clergy, family, friends,and twelve step programs are all readily availabe in all but the most desolate places on the planet.....but only if the involved person wants to do something to change their life because the fear and misery has become too great. You cannot help someone who will not be helped.....it does not work.

There is no other way than from one's own self that the process can begin.
