How much is too much or too little to spend on a New D-200, I am finding it for as low as $800.00 online (no lens). Being that they are around $1700 (also no lens) in all the local stores $800 seems a bit too good to be true. Just curious what others here have paid for a D-200? I am going to get a new camera hopefully by the end of august.

I paid 1700 for each of my 2, if it sounds too good to be true, it's not, with the D200 anyway. I got mine from Crutchfield.com. |

The 800 dollar on line D200 is a scam.
Run away! Run! I got mine at circuit
city because I was impatient. I see
them all the time now in local camera
stores. B&H even has them occasionally \
now. Best I've seen is about the list: 1699. |

I agree - that price sounds like a scam. Where did you see it? I just bought mine from 17th street photo (I will never deal with them again - only did so because B&H was out of stock - however, they were the same price as B&H). I haven't even really had mine out to shoot yet(just a few test shots around the house) but I must say, it is an INCREDIBLE camera! You won't be sorry if you pay the B&H price - which, I might add, is comparable to every place else I have seen - and you are dealing with a reputable company. |

Just go to a reputable dealer and don't play games over the price. If you make a mistake and buy from the wrong guy...it could cost you big. |

It sounds a bit like a scam... regardless, I would wait a week until Nikon announced the D80. It might affect pricing on the other models, including the D200. |

I drove 100 miles to the Harrisburg, PA "Best Buy" store because I saw they had one available for in-store pickup. I paid $1,633.00 for it and I used their 0 percent interest for 18 months. I was happy with the deal.
I spent time everyday looking to find one, so if you can grab it, especially if it's below $1699 then do so. If it's under $1600 then it is a rip off and avoid the temptation.
You know, I almost bought a 2005 BMW 330ci for $6,000. He just wanted me to wire him a $1000 deposit, and mark "for friend in need" on the memo to avoid taxes. If I did that, then the car would have been mine. Actually, it was some kind of ebay motors scam.
I just found one available at BestBuy for in-store pickup at:
Maple Grove MN 12905 Elm Creek Blvd N, Maple Grove, MN 55369
