Just made my website today.

www.thesailingbums.com

You can read about my trip and follow along. My cousin is quite a writer, so he and I will be updating as our journey progresses. I'll keep in touch with DPC during the time, but our main means of contact with the outside world will by via the website.

I did it through 1and1.com and I recommend them for basic use, but if you want more flexibility try something a little more personalized. I managed to do the little things, but not knowing html at heart and not having access to Dreamweaver or anything it was mostly highly complicated template work. Great for the value and very little hassle. I'll be linking to my smugmug site (awaiting rex's pimpage :)) for photos aside from basic trip ones.
