I just joined Dreamstime and uploaded a pic. In the agreement, I noticed this blurb...
I upload this image exclusively on Dreamstime.com. I acknowledge and warrant that I have read and agree with the Exclusivity Terms and Conditions and that I am able to enter such agreement, that this image is not represented by another agency and that I will not sell it somewhere else under a Royalty Free license.
I take it this means that I cannot upload and sell the same image on other sites like Shutterstock?

That's what it means if your give them exclusivity. However, that should be an option, not a requirement.
Most sites now offer a better rate if your give them an exclusive shot, but AFAIK no microsites require an exclusivity agreement. |

..but some will ban you if you belong to microsites.

We were discussing micro sites, not macro ... also, I think Photographer's Direct is the only one which won't take you if you post to a micro site -- which might be illegal restraint-of-trade, but I don't particularly want to deal with folks with that attitude anyway so it's not my fight ... |
