Hi All,

I was wondering if we can get Original wedding photographs from photographer after receiving photograph album. One of my friend she got married and I ask her about the original photograph but she said that photographer did not get give.

is this how it suppose to be? whose property it would be photographer's or my friend's who paid for the service? :):)

You might be able to buy more prints from the photographer, but unless they bought the rights "or negatives" it is the property of the photographer. I'm pretty sure that is how it goes.

It depends on the contract. More often than not, the photographer will retain copyright (and posession) over the original images.

If the photographer handed over the film or the original camera files on a dvd, then they would have no opportunity to make profit on prints.
: keep in mind that the photographer is a business, and needs to make money to survive in a VERY competitive marketplace.

Generally, no, you don't get the originals of a photo shoot, whether it is a wedding or other. It would be added to the contract, and usually costs extra.

The photographer holds the copyright and unless she chooses to give that up, she retains it and the originals. Often a bride will negotiate to have the originals.

When I got married the photographer told me he held the copy on the images. If I wanted prints I needed to see him and that I couldnt have them printed elsewhere. He also did not sale the images to others or as stock. He did the work, he is entitled to earn the monies from printing. IMHO.
