I'm happy with my score (OK, ecstatic and very pleasantly surprised would be more accurate) and quite pleased with a "DID meet challenge" comment. Very cool!

*gasp* Surely that's a TYPO!!!

Hang on - lemme check....

Yep. Says (and I quote) "suits the challenge well".

How 'bout that, huh? :-)

Not bad so far but the right side of 6 would be nice...

I don't believe it... They must have been mistaken...or a new member who doesn't realize that comments like that are totally UNacceptable!!!

Well, I'm not sure which one is yours, but I'm sure that really it does NOT meet challenge (nor does mine)!!! ;-P

LOL!

I'll have to thank the commentor after the challenge. :-)

ugh, it keeps slowly dropping, but I REALLY hope it stays above a 6! However, I'm very confused by the 10 comments, cuz they were all excellent. Ah well, some people just don't have a sence of humor I guess :)

Bummer...now I am going to have to comment on every image just to deny you;P

My score is 5.12 if that's any consolation?

The morning crowd is cranky, and my score drops. Then comes the evening crowd and they are happy my score goes up.

My formula.

Friday = Beer
Beer = Better Scores
So
Friday = Better Scores

I like the way you're thinking, so in the interests of keeping everybody happy I must drink beer and score the challenge on Friday
;o)

I think this should be made obligatory. DPC could provide a breathalyzer test that voters have to fail before voting.

Yes, and it would be up to you as to what type of drink you choose before voting. If you think you have a winner, feel free to crack the champagne, if you are a slob like me get your petes wicked out. Just as long as you are relaxed and not out to over critiqe.

OK, it's a bottle of Shiraz, relax and only nice comments and high scores

Heck start drinking at lunch. My score has droped .1 from the morning voters. Lets get it back by happy hour!

I nearly had a stroke when my scores dipped below a 6. Then today, I almost fell out of my chair b/c of all the comments. They are all good, so why aren't my scores higher?? I'm so confused O~o

You guys have comments??? I'm below 4.5 without a single comment...and it pisses me off. I feel like if I'm below 5.0 I should have several comments to explain why. I expect a flood of comments to shoot through the last two days of voting.

A score over 6 is very good. 19 comments, eh? That's quite a bunch.

Sometimes you have a picture that for some reason just gets people to want to say something about it. It doesn't have to be an exceptional image, but it somehow makes a connection with the viewers, or gets a chuckle from them, or gets them to say, "Wow! how did she do that?".

I think what's worth working for is getting images that are artistically (and technically) exceptional AND get a strong reaction out of viewers.

Ok, it is almost 3:00 here in Denver, so I figure happy hour must be starting on the east coast, because I have seen a slight increase in score here lately. My guess is that about 6:00 East Coast time and we should all be smiling a bit more.

Just received my first ever DQ request for original!!!

Mixed feelings... proud of it, but then again it probably affects my score negatively if a) people thought it is illegaly edited and b) SC agreed...

Hoping to get that "Validated" message soon... SCore lingering around 6...

Yeah (off topic)... one of my most heavily commented images EVER was this one. It ended up middle of the pack and honestly I didn't think it was that great, but it SURE got a lot of comments!

' . substr('//images.dpchallenge.com/images_challenge/372/thumb/223452.jpg', strrpos('//images.dpchallenge.com/images_challenge/372/thumb/223452.jpg', '/') + 1) . '

hehehehehe... still makes ME chuckle!

sorry... back to your regular scheduled program!

My score has settled at about 5.2, which I'm ok about (it deserves less) But I thought that perhaps I should only take images during happy hour, vote during happy hour, and turn my scores on during happy hour:)

I think you nailed it on the head Ursula...but why can't it just be one or the other, sigh.
