Yay! Just crawled up to the 5.0000 mark! Woohoo! I'm gonna go light some bottle rockets to celebrate.

Why not just toss 'em into one of your many villages still ablaze?

I have dropped .2 in the past few days and personally am glad the votes have slowed. I was dropping like a rock! If it stays above 6 I will be happy. Especially for my first real shot at a fireworks display.

More views than normal challenges, don't you think? :)
and you can't beat 23 great comments! Thanks.
Time to get busy and reciprocate. I've only made a couple this challenge.

With 8 faves during the challenge, I would be too (right now, I'd settle for one). Congrats!

Really? I thought I was just being greedy. ;-P

You must be in the ribbon hunt with those stats.

I'm always in the ribbon hunt. :) Not sure though with the score if its good enough. There may be a lot that are higher then me since they are all beautiful but I can always hope for top 10 :)

No hoping necessary. With those stats, you don't need to see the score to know it's a top 10 finish and a personal best for you. W00T!

Do you really think so? That would be SO awesome!!!

I just checked the home page and the latest winners scores. The only one that won in my score range was Bloody Mary, Bloody Mary, but there were only 93 entries I believe. This one has 159 so I think it will be close if I make top 10 but would love that! :)

It should be a high scoring challenge despite the low number of entries because fireworks are just plain cool to look at (brilliant light effects, fire, vivid color, pretty patterns, long exposures...). I figure the top score(s) will be over 7, and the 10th place cut-off will be around 6.5-6.6 with many entries in the high-5 to low-6 range.

You never really know, though.. I've had a 6.55 take the blue, and a 7.07 that was only good enough for 15th place.

Welp, for this one I predict the top winners simply must be in the high 7's. I'm not there so I still hope for top 10. I still love my entry so that is always a win win situation. :) That is incredible though to get a 7.07 like you did and be 15th. WOW! Bummer!

That is a good guess. I am hovering just a small notch below my highest score ever, even though i believe I have better photos. Funny how that works....

Looks like Cutter may have a ribbon!

I tend to agree. As of this writing I'm at:

Therefore, I predict the top 10 cut-off will be 6.391 :-p Just kidding. It's all about baby steps. At first, hope to get in the top 30, then the top 20, and then the top 10.

OH YEAH, definately. Cutter must have a ribbon! CONGRATS ahead of time Cutter because if that doesn't ribbon I will be totally shocked!
07/11/2006 11:44:07 PM · #124
this will end up to be my highest score.
everyone should stop voting now just to make sure. :-) unless you are just about to give me a 8-9 or 10
07/12/2006 12:30:42 AM · #125
It is my highest as well... but I wish the voters had stopped a couple of days ago as my score has dropped .2 in the last 60+ votes :-(.
