I'm having a hard time with this one for some reason...Any thoughts?

Compositionally, it just doesn't work for me. The mask just doesn't seem to fit into its surroundings. Also, there isn't enough negative space to make it effective.

Love the close up of the mask and the composition of the mask within the frame. Has a lot of impact. It's just that those tress and grasses come across as a distraction. But if that's what the scene was like, that's what it was and it's hard to do anything about it. Taking the whole background to black maight make this more dramatic but you'd lose the picture of where this was.

Love the mask too, but agree the background is distracting. It depends on what your intention is..is it the mask itself or the mask in its environment that you want to emphasize. Try some really harsh crops - I just did a two second version, going for drama...

I cut the chin off accidently, but you get the idea;)

you've been in Scheveningen? :)

I think a bit more space on the right would appeal more in your photo :)

Yeah, those darn trees are really hard to deal with. I wanted to leave something in to give a sense of it's size but trees are all that are there. Oh well. I really liked the mask but it's just out of place. It felt that way while I was there too.. Thanks for the comments!
