I have CS2, but am fairly new to using Actions.
How can I make an action to resize a photo to 800 px as its greatest dimension?
And how can I have it put my logo in the same spot on each picture? For example, 4 pixels away from the bottom right-hand corner?
Any help would be greatly appreciated! |

For re-sizing, I like to make 2 actions: one for verticals, one for horizontals. Open an image and go to "New Action". Its now recording. Image->Resize-> put in 800px in for the larger dimension. Input Save options if desired. Stop recording action. Repeat these steps for your other action. Viola!
(not sure on how to do the logo) |

thanks Katie, but I have so many photos, I was hoping I could make a single action that could do all of this at once. |

start your Action recording
File - Automate - Fit Image - set your max size in both boxes and hey presto :D
next open your logo and copy then close the logo
paste
then select the 2 layers and use
Layer - Align - bottom
Layer - Align - right
then using the move tool (V) nudge the logo out the required amount from the corner (all this will be recorded)
then once you're happy with the position
Layer - Flatten
Stop the Action Recording..
test on a couple of Portrait and Landscape images, if your happy with it
File - Automate - Batch - select the action and the folder and away you go :)
i'll invoice you for my consultancy later ;)

This may interest you, //www.atncentral.com/
For the signature thing, I'd save a file and have PS open it and apply it as a layer, process the portraits and landscapes separately. But I'm not really an expert or anything at actions. Wait, I thought of 3 different reasons why that idea sux, nevermind.

One way I do it is to use the Web Photo Gallery tool. You can tell it the size of the the longest side and it does the rest. But, it also converts to .jpg
Found: File - Automate - Web Photo Gallery
I'll have to try Bobster's way though, never thought of that. |
