I like the guitar. Clean and uncluttered.

I'm thinking the first one (except the divider colors...I might go lighter) as first glance at the second one and I would guess you are a musician. Just my take.

Simple is best. Guitar.

They both have their ups and downs. The first one shows off what you're capable of doing, but it's also kind of a busy background. The second one is not as interesting of a picture, but it's also very clean and well laid out. The one and only thing I'd change would be to move the "Dand Gruskin" text down a little more on the guitar one, it kind of crowds the top too much. If I were to choose between the two, I would go with the first one.

I like the first one better, but I'm not very excited about the font in either pic.

I would use the first one with the water because the guitar to me is a symbol of music not photography.

Good point.

I think the guitar one is very sharp looking. The only thing is maybe bring down the print in the upper left hand corner? Just slightly though. Otherwise this is excellent IMO.

Guitar - 4
Water - 5

Hmmm...fun decision, eh? ;^)

definately the guitar

This is interesting.

Guitar - 5 (4 girls, 1 guy)
Water - 5 (4 guys, 1 girl)

Wonder how the age group breaks down?

not the guitar. music comes into mind, than photography. why not try for a third pic.

The guitar is good and all but the nature shot is more my cup of tea. Both are effective and beautiful.
06/27/2006 10:57:35 AM · #17
like sam said, the first one shows what you can do, so i would go for the nature one.

The first one, mainly because your first line says fine art, and the guitar just does not scream fine art. Only my initial opiniion. Both are very nice.

I vote for the water shot, but the text portion still needs a bit more work. Nothing wrong with the guitar shot except that it looks like it should be the card for a musician.

I'd go for the first one, just lose the divider bars. The guitar makes it look like you're a musician.

as a guitar player, i'd certainly not go with the photo of the bass... come on people... count the strings... yeesh...

honestly, i agree with those that said go w/ the first photo but work on the text a bit... the font is a little too... plain for my taste.

just make sure to continue to pick readable fonts... nothing is worse that a business card with an unreadable script font...

Nother vote for guitar

I do like the guitar shot but for a business card the other one does work better for me. The guitar does tend to convey musician more than photographer.

If you do go with the guitar one I also feel the text is way too tight at the top - it actually makes it look as if the card has been incorrectly cropped/ cut.

By the way, what is an "occasion" photographer? Is it a widely used expression? If not I'd consider changing it as my first thought was "occasional photographer"! :o)

Isn't "bass" just an abbreviation of bass guitar? I.e. a bass guitar IS a guitar!

so much for my attempt at subtle humor...

hey... how many bassists does it take to change a light bulb?

no one has ever noticed...
