Just got back from a wedding weekend along the California coast. I thought I'd share a few pics of the coast between Carmel and Big Sur. My old roommate (Katherine) was getting married (she's the blond bride). I was not the photog, but took a few sideline shots. My wife and I were also taking a few pics at the Carmel Mission earlier in the day when a wedding party showed up right where I was photographing. I asked if I could snap a few shots while their wedding photographer was working her magic. The wedding couple and their photog were totally cool people! The photog and I started talking equipment as we both had 20D's with the 24-70mm attached (although she also had a 5D, another 20D and the appropriate menu of "L" class lenses). :-) In one of those "small world" scenarios, after exchanging names and emails with the wedding couple (Heather and John), it turns out my wife knew the bride! They had worked together in the past, but always via the phone, so they did not recognize each other. It's a very small world sometimes.

Comments welcome! I scored a two wedding weekend, but didn't make a dime! :-)

Heather & John - Carmel Mission (Small world scenario)

Katherine & John - Ventana Inn, Big Sur (wedding we attended as quests)

Various views along Hwy 1 bewteen Carmel & Big Sur (and a few Carmel Mission pics)

I like the second one of the married couple a lot. Great composition tones and natural pose. Number one is great too, but I think number 2 is a great wedding photo they'll both love.

Wow Bear! You must have a whole catalog full of coastal shots (West Coast that is - we know you have the East Coast nailed)! Carmel is a very beautiful area. We got lucky - the fog dissipated a few times along the road for us to take a few nice shots.

Nope. Lost everything in a basement flood while we were on vacation. All my negatives, all my prints. Nothing survives but what's hanging on peoples' walls here and there...

And so it goes...
