A few shots from the last two days at Yellowstone. The eagle shot was so cool! Unfortunately, it has it's technical problems, but I don't really even care. It was just neat to see. I don't know if the one photo is a wolf or a coyote. It's been a great trip! Tomorrow we head for our last touristy stops....S. Dakota and the Rushmore area.

Comments Welcome!

Beautiful shots. BTW, that's likely a coyote, it's a bit small for a wolf. I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure Coyote. I really need to take a week off and spend some time up there.

I wasn't sure which it was. I did ask a rancher and he seemed to think it was a small wolf due to the fur around the face. In either case, it was fun catching it on film.

Yes...take some time off! :)

We've been very fortunate that the crowds have been extremely low, but I suppose it's still a little early in the season. It's been beautiful just about every day!

Hey JP,

Great Shots! Im going out in September. I cant wait to try my hand out there. Where abouts in Yellowstone was the eagles nest? It is definately something I would love to see is an eagle! I also like your mountain shot. This is the kind of luck I am hopeing for when I go there.

Thanks for Sharing

I live in Wyoming, just a couple of hours from Yellowstone and Grand Tetons: It's a wolf.

I was in YNP reciently and had the privledge of seeing this guy:

My guy is a coyote. The easiest way to tell the difference is the size. A wolf will be or be close to the largest dog you have ever seen in your life. You sound like you had a great time! Nice shots!

Looks more like a Coyote to me...the ears are large and positioned a little different from those of a Wolf. Yes/No?

From what I can tell, there are many similarities and even the experts have a hard time telling the difference (some interesting links):
