Is it worth buying the wide angle and telephoto lenses for the s602Z?
Does the telephoto make that much difference?
thanks

It has been my experience that these lenses are a big plus with any camera. A wide angle lens will have a tremendous effect for depth of field and a telephoto lens can provid a huge increase in detail for landscapes, sunsets etc. And besides I need all the help I can get.
Have A Fun Day.

Fuji's own 1.5x teleconverter is supposedly only about 1.4x and it doesn't make a *huge* difference. Having said that, I wouldn't want to be without it. The extra reach is invaluable at times.
Another option is the Olympus teleconverter (TCON-17 I think) which is 1.7x and just as high quality as the Fuji model.
I haven't used the wide angle, but if you shoot landscapes it will be well worth the investment.

I added 2X on Fuji 3800,which have same lens as 602,but I only get about 1.4 X regardless of the Telephoto manufacturer claim!
I also get blueish noise and focusing time is longer than usual!
Wide angle is nice for capturing tall buildings and churches...

ok -thanks for the advice.
I am familiar with wide angle/telephoto lenses with my old slr = just wondered if it was worth laying out nearly 200 quid. Think i will give it a miss.

I`ve heard the T-con is good. Will give you 10x zoom but i have not tried it.

The TCON-17 and WCON-07 are very good lenses.
Instead of 35-210mm you'll convert it to 24mm - 357mm
Then if you also factor in the digital zoom you can actually push this out to 1570mm :)
If you're interested I can send you some pics to show the difference (richard@boltdj.com) |

I purchased a kit of Kenko adapter lenses from an Australian seller on ebay. The kit included the adapter ring for my S602, a 2x teleconverter and a .50 wide angle adapter for $299AUD ($190 US). Here is the sellers website //www.camerasdirect.com.au It might be worth contacting them to find a seller in the UK.
