I wanted to share this series of images taken in Antelope Canyon last week, on a roadtrip to the Arizona area. I didn't post this thread earlier since one image from this location was in a challenge...

Most of these images are very minimally touched in PS, just a little curves and very little selective color if at all. The light itself is wonderful and lights up the canyon in amazing color- this is a dreamlike location to shoot in! Comments and critiques are greatly appreciated :)

When I saw your shot during voting, I was immediately jealous! Antelope Canyon is very high on my list of desirable places to visit. You really did it justice.
What time of the day did you visit, and how long did you spend in the canyon?

WOW! At what time of day did you shoot these?

Put me down as another jealous person here :)

Beautiful series.

Your framing shot is quite nice. I've never seen Antelope Canyon so red and wondered if you changed the tone or if Lower Canyon (not photographed as much) is different from Upper.

I'm going to make it there one day. It's a 5-6 hour drive from my in-laws, but I'm gonna do it when I can. Maybe in November.

What he said/asked.

Wow... Great pictures from both upper and lower Antelope Canyon. You picked up the colors exceptionally well. Must be a time of year/time of day thing. My Antelope images are approximately the same exposure levels as yours but I had to work to bring out the colors better.

One thing that fascinates me a lot about it is how much more color saturated pictures are compared to what you see with the human eye. My camera rarely picks up more color than I see, but Antelope Canyon is an exception.

Sounds like you had a wonderful trip.

excellent photos, i took some at Red Rock and Valley of fire last year, but none compare to these.

Thank you! We visited Lower Antelope in the morning (about 9:30) and spent around 3 1/2 hours there. Lower Antelope is much brighter than Upper- Upper was pretty much pitch dark in portions until about 11:00. It's best to go to Lower earlier in the morning, since as the sun goes overhead, too many hotspots start showing up making composition more constrained.
Upper is best around 11:00-12:30 or so, in my observation. If you could do only one, I'd do Lower :)...

Very nice series. I like the way the light rays in "Straight from the skies" look almost like a waterfall.

Yeah - you pretty much kicked a** in the framed challenge with these shots! What amazing colors!

Those are some great colors. I think the DPC headquarters should be moved to that fitting place. :P

Yes Upper Antelope is actually perfectly flat (that where the beams shots are taken)... Lower Antelope is far from flat, with lots of ladders for descending, it also has much narrower passages.

wow beautiful shots!

Gorgeous shots, one thing to keep i mind about slot canyons like that though, is always watch the weathyer! Flash floods are commonplace in those things.

Wowser. Looks like you got a replacement for the 300D too.
