nice work, lori! i managed to get one equestrian shot this past month, and got lucky at that. the horse decided to go for the gate rather than around it. fortunately, the ride was experienced enough to handle it...

Thanks Skip. I've seen that happen a few times. I saw a child in a jumping class jump the arena fence instead of the jumps in the ring.

I'll be taking some more dressage pictures this weekend as my gelding is being ridden in a local show. I'll post some of them after the event.

My daughter in the Montana ASA 18A National qualifier. She hit 600 for the tourney, this is a 3 run rbi double. Her team won the the tourney. Will be in Kentucky at the end of the month for a shot at a National title. We are now setting in Colorado. The team is 6-1. Over 200 teams here. They need to win 5 games in a row tomorrow to get back to the finals. This team can do it. My daughters bat is hot, currently 7 for 14 batting 500.

Posted these in a separate thread earlier this week ... they could still use a little more exposure. (horn blowing goes here)

I had a chance to shoot a portion of the Utah Summer Games last weekend. What I really enjoyed about this shoot was the variety of sports that I had a chance to shoot.

Okay, I promise to go back and fill in the details on my images (shutter speed, aperture, lens and post a comment with focal length on zoom lenses). How about others doing the same? I would love to find out what you were shooting with to get the images you achieved.

Thanks! :-)

All shots taken with 100-400mm. f5.6, 200 iso, av mode, from about 220 feet away. Great lens but need more room from the batter to fence to get a shallower DOF.

We are done, won 3 in row. Finished 8th out of the 200 teams. Have about 500 shots to process, shot in jpeg, should be interesting since I shoot raw most all the time. (sorry about making this a personal thread).
