As some of you know, I move to Vancouver, B.C. from Kamloops, B.C. today.

Currently, I am just sitting here waiting for my sister to come with her husband and family and their truck, to get the U-Haul trailer I have and start this new adventure of my life. I leave a job I've had for 2 years, caring for 2 wonderful little girls. Breeanna, who you've met through a number of challenges:

And Megan, who you pretty much watched grow up here at DPC:
from baby-hood -
to a blue ribbon -

This is one of the hardest things I've ever had to do in my life, and the emotions have, and still run, the gamut. Still, Megan got a chance to say goodbye in her own fashion yesterday:

Later this morning, I'm going to get one last photo of the girls and myself, to give to them, so they don't forget me too much.. especially Megan, who is still too young to really have a vast memory resevoir.. and for myself, as, for some reason, throughout the entire two years.. I never really got a photo of the three of us together.. and now is the time better than any.

Anyway, I just wanted to share my excitement/fear/heart-ache with you all, and am looking forward to a new chapter in my life. Thankfully, DPC will still be here when I get to the big city, and hopefully it will spark my photographic inspiration like never before.

See you on the other side.

Best of luck with your move as difficult at it may be to say "see you later." However, I am excited for you because I'm just certain that a great adventure awaits you!

Best wishes!

Good luck from me, this probably is a very hard day for you.

Safe travels! I'll be thinking about you as you make the "crossing" to the next part of your life.
(...and, on my honor, I promise not to do anything to DPC while you're on the road that would in any way, shape or form cause it to cease to exist while you're not looking. Honest!)

Just keep taking photographs and everyone will survive (i will survive!). I am also, expected to move in the next few months, as it will be the first time I have taken a photograph outside of my own state, and am anxious to do so. Keep up the good work!

Travel safely, Arty! Today must be bittersweet; however, I'm sure the postive influence you've had on the girls will surely endure beyond your physical departure from their lives.

Talk to you soon, sweets.

Don't forget to go to the bathroom before you leave...and eat something so we don't have to stop on the way...and don't sit so close to your sister...quit bothering her...turn around in the seat...quit messing with the door locks...DAMMIT! Don't make me turn this car around, young man!! ;)

Have a safe trip, Glen...remember that all great movies are about leaving home or going home again. This is the first day of the rest of your life and we are all here to live vicariously through your adventures. :)

Hugs!

Good luck to you Glen - I'm sure everything will work out fine for you. Old doors close, and new doors open to us for a reason. In the end it all works out for the best.

How did I miss this thread!!?! I hope your move went swimmingly Glen. :) Best of luck in your new endeavors and this new chapter in your life (not that you really need it) :)

It's hard to imagine that those two beautiful girls will no longer be gracing the pages of DPC. Maybe, if we're lucky we'll get some bonus shots of them every now and again. I hope you're doing alright. I know they'll miss you loads and vice versa, I'm sure. :(
