The more stuff i buy, the more stuff i want to buy.
First it as a dSLR. then you gotta have a lens. then another. then a better one. then a flash.

So you get the idea to make some money with your equipment, to make money to buy more equipment.

so now you need a backup body, flash, lens...but that's not much fun to buy.

So now i want Pocket Wizards to untether myself. And a battery system to power my studio strobes on location. and a 12-24 lens. and a macro lens. and this fall tokina is coming out wiht a 10-17 fisheye zoom...and i could use more backdrops, perhaps a westcott reflector and a better stand, a couple of C stands for the new studio lights...

and then I see this - like a hungry kid in a candy store...

Actually the "backup body" is more like. "Hey, if I upgrade to the new ???? then my current body can be the backup....

There's help for that. It's called psycho-therapy. ;)

Do you get to keep one and have another one as the "backup body?"

my thoughts exactly barndog....and hmm hmm of course I need the 12.9 mp of the 5d...since..hmm hmm I am doing so many senior portraits.

When I order that I also need the 24-70 2.8L
and a battery gip
and the Quantum Turbo battery
and another 580ex
and some studio lighting
either pocket wizards or the canon slave setup
and..........

Actually I am getting ready to purchase all of the above.

I almost fell on that side of the fence, but took a real good look at things and realized how much I had, not what I didn't have.
I'm just really grateful that I have what I do, and make the best of it, as there are so many with far less, or nothing at all.
I'm counting my blessings lately I guess.

Yeah, always one to spoil the mood of the feeding frenzy....

There you go Brad...

I'm reminded of a quote I read somewhere once...

--

"It's too easy to focus on what we don't have. Turn it around and focus on what we do have." - dp can't remember.

It's tempting to buy the $2000 of stuff i want and then pay down teh debt - interest is the only added expense - but a) i don't like debt b)i'd want something else the week after all that arrived!

It never ends.

In the last two years or so since I got back into Photography as a part time jog/hobby I switched to Digital and I'd hate to think how much I've spent..

The latest expense being studio lights and some modifiers.

But I'm realistic about it, I don't want it to stop. :-).

Cheers, Me.
