My latest animal photos are in this gallery at pBase. You are welcome to use any images -- email me and I can edit any you want to spec or send you unedited originals. I'll dig around for some old animal pics too; I know I can get one now of a hedgehog and some guinea pigs.

Is there an animal that starts with a "Q" or "X" ? ;)

Q -> Quail,
X, well that is tougher, X-ray fish, Xiphas, Xenops, Xantus Humming bird,

I have also seen a couple of other ways people handled X,

eXtinct, or eXotic, my favorite is Fox but only if spelled backwards. Another option (is "Ops, the animal excapped come back later)

N, is also difficult one, Narwhale and nightengail two of the more obvious

U, is also tough (short of unicorn) which there are unicorn fish etc...

:-)

For N you could use nudebranch (sea slug -- amazing varieties!) or nematode.

For U you can use Urchin, or Ungualates (hoofed) as a class.

Q might = Queen Angelfish

Make sure you check for local names for animals as well; you could use the same photo for cougar, mountain lion, panther, puma, or catamount.

QUAIL

Tony, feel free to use this one, I've got tons more that I'll resize and send along after work. Love the project!

Maybe you can point out that since X is the same backwards and forwards, all the animal names happen to end with X instead. Then you can have Fox, Ibex, Ox, Lynx, Manx, Minx (wait, scratch that -- kids' site), Smallpox, Lox (on a bagel) ...

Quetzel is a Central American bird; Quetzelcoatl the plumed serpent god of the Toltecs and Aztecs.

Will somebody please help me to take pictures from pbase and post the url on here so that I can contribute some animal pictures? I just don't know how to do it.

First, go to the page on pBase which has the image to post, and copy the url. It should look like this:

//www.pbase.com/image/20190550

In the forum post, click on the Link button (rightmost) and paste the url into the text field.

To post the image itself (not recommended for size reasons) use the Image button (next to the link) and append the extension .jpg to the url like this:

//www.pbase.com/image/20190550.jpg

To post the thumbnail, follow the same procedure but add the word small to the url like this:

//www.pbase.com/image/20190550/small.jpg

Here are a few animal photos you can use. Not as good a collection as some of the others here but you may see something you like. :)

If you do want some underwater animals on your site, then post the same type of message in the forums at Wetpixel- the underwater digital photography site!! Lots of great pics there... especially of nudibranchs!!!

If you're coding to stop right click saving then all they can get is a screenshot. Just a very small copyright line would be good, so when you put photographer's name just extend it as follows maybe?

This is gonna be FUN!
