Im looking to get two flash units with wireless built in (shoe mount type) My question is if one flash is on the shoe and the ohter on a tripod will they both flash cause there wireless? What im looking to do is set one for side lighting and one on camera.
I saw the 2 x 580ex and wireless transmitter at B&H but thats alot of dough...$930.00. Any other brands/setups work for what I need?

I could be completely wrong, so research it first---
But I believe the 580ex has a built in transmitter. So you could have that on your hotshoe and a 420ex wireless. I am only 55% sure of this...its been a while since I have researched it all!

I use a 550ex for master and 420ex for slave. Fire the 550 via camera (either on-camera or tethered). I would like to get the transmitter soon (ST-E2??)
