I have been having bad luck trying to order a Lexar 2GB Compact Flash card, everywhere seems to be sold out for some reason. Does anyone have any experience using a GXT Compact Flash card? I've provided a link to the 2GB model I am interested in.

Thanks, Dan

Never heard of that brand. Here's a link to the Rob Galbraith site's database showing test results of several brands in your Rebel XT. I use SanDisk Extreme III 1 gig cards and have had no problems with them in my 20D.

Definitely read the Rob Galbraith page that coolhar linked to. Great resource. As far as value and reliability, IMO there is only one choice - Sandisk. Here is a link to a Sandisk Ultra II 2GB card for $85. The Ultra II will be fast enough that the only time you'd notice a difference between that and the Extreme III is if you have an extremely fast card reader. You will not notice any difference in camera. BTW, I have a lot of experince with this retailer and I do recommend them.

I have a 2gb GXT compact flash card i got at future shop. I love it. It's SUPER SUPER fast. its rated on the box at read/write 20mb/sec. and 144X. Both are indicated on the box and are true.
I found this thread trying to find another place to buy another one for less that what i spent at future shop... i payed 130 there... too much.
