Don't let one stupid troll chase you off. Just set about proving them wrong.

“Wife” – the next thing you buy well better be a Canon Ring for my finger if the glass is that good!!
“Husband/Photographer” – (sits with eyes wide open and mouth dropped)
“Wife” – (turns, walks out of room mumbling) call himself a photographer. Pictures on the wall! I’ve seen pictures better than that at the doctor’s office!!!!!!!!!!

OMG, your post just made me realize that 2 of my lenses DID cost more than my wedding set...LOL!!!! I'd take L glass over diamonds anyday!

I do the same thing!!! Then, I snap the picture, but it doesn't actually take the picture until I have taken it away from my face. They get a lovely shot of the sidewalk.

ROFL!!! It seems lots have issues with Walmart. Any time I hand over a CD with pics to a friend, I give them a signed release because of Walmart. I usually recommend mpix to them, though, because they never have asked..LOL

Ouch.

MINE TOO!!!!

ETA: She has never seen the Cheese incident.

Don't you just hate it? It drives me crazy, like I'm not expected to improve or do anything interesting.

I am so glad my parents are open-minded and my friends are artsy.

My friends are just fartsy.

I'll shoot them if you do all the post processing...LOL

The funny/sad part is they'd probably not know the difference between good, bad, and no post-processing.

If you can't say no to a "job" like these, either shoot film and let them have it processed at Wally World or shoot in Jpeg and put it straight to disk ;-)

Or, have them sign model releases so you have stock photos ;-)

We have a dude in my camera club who asks that for every photo. "Did it really look like that or did you do that in Photoshop?" We keep threatening to say things like "no, it was originally a toilet and we photoshopped it into a church."

Once i did a portrait withh lot of negative space and when some one saw the image they told me you know you should keep the person in center.

another time i had on purpose cropped the face of a person while doing portrait. Some one saw and said you know that not how you click photograph.

Recently my aunt came back from Bahamas, where she had been posted. She bought theis cute 3 mega pixel camera . She asked me how many mega pixel my camera had, i said 5, she was like you know In US, they have come out with 6 mega pixel camera. This is a month old inciedent.

All of you better realize that there is 6 megapixel camera available too.

Recently my friend came back from Canada , he had P&S 8 mega pixel camera from Olympus that didnot even have viewfinder just a LCD and technically it is better than mine since it a 8 megapixel and it is quite thinner

I've had the same Wal-Mart problem, TWICE. I had to go back home and bring them the "un-retouched" version, right from the camera, before they would give me my photos. Now I put a copy of the original, along with the final photo on the CD before going to THAT STORE. Unfortunately, they have the lowest prices around here.

Standing in a gym class/playroom for my daughter's "graduation" to the next level I'm shooting some close-ups from across the room with the 70-200 on the 20D and using the 580EX with the LSII. A mother who's family had joined this class after the last graduation says, "Wow. Cool camera. Looks like you're really into photography."

Granted knowing how to break the ice can be difficult but I often get comments like this from people who later show that they know little to nothing about the equipment so I have to wonder how do they know the equipment is "cool" and what led them to think I was any more into it than the next person. The size?

It's all about looks and size. Seems that a pro-black camera body and a big white lens will impress most non-photogs. And quite a few photogs, too.

Have you ever had this one?

"Can you just put the originals on a disk and I will post process them myself?"

Said to me by a sister in law and my brother....I was so insulted.
