I am wondering which colorspace is perferred for printing and viewing on a computer screen.

I searched the forum for an answer, but no such luck. I probably didnt look hard enough

sRGB for screen. Printing depends on the printer. Most often these days the final file sent to the printer will be sRGB. Editing is most often done in Adobe RGB and other spaces.

Just a heads-up that unless you really know color management, it is best to stay in sRGB. There is little or no benefit to working in another space for work destined for the web. For print, it can be another matter, but again, it demands that yoiu are very familiar with color management, and that is a complex subject.

Chapter 5 of Scott Kelby's PDF book, "The Photoshop CS2 Book for Digital Photographers" is called "Anger-free Color Management Step-By-Step" - this gives a simplified easy to understand method of setting up camera/monitor/printer. My FZ7 does not have a selectable color space but the photoshop-to-printer part was useful.
