Ok, this will be a rambling question. My sister travels to England occasionally. She owns a D70S. Next month she will be going to England and it will be her first time taking her new camera. Because she has travelled there numerous times she is aware of the different outlets and needing converters/adaptors, etc. She has a question though. Because they have a different voltage ( or at least I think they do) would using a basic adaptor (which she has for other items) possibly damage her battery? Do they sell or make something specifically for adapting the battery charger in England or would she have to just purchase another battery to take along and use it when the first one dies? (Thats her last choice as she really will have no use for a second battery any other time, her camera is for pleasure only and photographing her daughters sporting events)

Am I making sense?

I told her I'd ask here for her as she doesn't frequent any forums and she knows I get great info here.

Thanks for any input you may have :)

THe standard Nikon charger accepts any voltage from 110 to 240V. So, as long as she has a simple plug adaptor, she should be fine. on the other hand, having one spare battery is always a good idea, they have a habit of dying just when they are most needed.

Awesome. Thanks for responding. At least now if she chooses to get a back up battery she can base her decision on how bad she wants it versus having no choice.

Yeh, you just need the plug adaptor, no problems. I take a couple when I go overseas and have had no problems in India, Egypt, Turkey or anywhere!
