First comment made: I don't see the relation to "granular" in this image. (former challenge nazi)]

First comment recieved: This shot really stands out. Perfectly sharp and appealing I think.

I like the rainbow but the intensity is just too much. I don't mean to nit pick but maybe if it were a subtle blue instead if a magenta/purple it would read better.

amazing indeed. brought audible reaction from me. creation is strange and beautiful, and in this case, just strange and small.

Amazingly enough, it's from the same fellow

This looks like a fun thread. ;^)

First comment made: "Cute, but focal point is off."

First comment rec'd: "The lighting is a little hot on the ball and a lot ot detail is lost. A 5 "

In retrospect, both comments are fairly accurate.

Ha, a walk down memory lane.

First comment was to Jemison...
"great subject, the biker is a little underexposed. It's so hard to tell what is my screen and what is the picture (although I believe I have the gamma and contrast set correctly)."

First comment received...
"looks like some sorta weird tropical fish."

I think this shot would be stronger with heavier contrast and less of the brick in the shot.

Given:

I find the photo quite humorous

"Oohh, I like this one better than mine! (And I'm no troll!) I only wish it was bigger (I don't think that you utilized max 640 pixels and that may hurt you)"

This is really excellent. I could imagine that just about anything could happen in this dreamscape. I love the corners. I've done some experimentation with that style myself and I really like it. Except of course my pictures look like crap compared to this lovely peice of work! I won't be surprised to see this ribbon.

I particularly like the starkness of the clouds in the center and the softness of the clouds as they approach the edges.

It seems I called it :).

First received was on my abysmal Typhoon Talim shot...:

ouch!

Always seems to be the same pattern. Give more, receive less... :)

Memory lane. alright...

My first comment: I'd be happier with this if the diagonal were not so aggressively centered, and if there were more subtle detail in the bright areas. But it is otherwise a very pleasing image.

Comment by strangeghost:
I've never seen this pulled off quite like you present here. The water surface looks almost metallic, and is in razor-sharp focus, as are the reflected trees. Quite amazing, really!

Nice color and detail, this is a great shot, he looks like a cross between Shrek and a teenage mutant ninja turtle. With big eyes.

Whoa...this is a terrific action shot!! The dynamic color, sense of motion, perspective, and clarity work well together. I think this would do extremely well in an action or sports challenge! The only thing I would change would be to have it going vertical rather than horizontal, to really speak to the heighth of the jump. But that's minor. This is great!! :)

Comment: I love the color on this...so brilliant & vibrant. Excellent cropping and perspective. How many shots did you take before capturing the wings just right etc.? Great take on the challenge. This is one of our top picks

Comment by KiwiPix: Cool idea, I'm trying to decide the point of the image. Is it the boy (who's OOF) or the plate (which I can't understand its smbolism)

Like the juxtaposition of both the architecture and the color. When you size for web viewing, make sure you do such that the lines are clear.

First comment rec'd:

There are a few small distracting elements in this photo. But still a nice shot.

For what it's worth...I showed my mother (who works at a Wildflower Preserve) and she pointed out that it is actually a "Cornus canadensis".

I find the large rounded object distracting, it is a lot of empty space that doesn't add to the photo.
