that's a damn good score in this low scoring challenge dude! I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you.

i entered a risky shot and am paying the price.

Yeah, a backlit wine glass with a cross in it was begging for trouble. ;-P

I'm shocked really. I almost pulled the entry at the last second. It's now at 6.48. I think there's a magnet at 6.5 with my entries. :P

I'm still hanging in there... It peaked at around 6.8 so it's been pretty stable. Hopefully the trolls won't come out of the tunnels ;)

I'm actually really surprised with this challenge. I expected the Europeans to use their geographical advantage and pull out the wide glass on some cathedrals. Surprisingly very few of those... Good job for the North Americans and Australian/New Zealanders for keeping up with our non-gothic, merely 200 year old churches.

yeah i figured there was no way I could compete with all of those gothic, renaissance, baroque, etc churches :(

but i hope mine does better down the stretch :)

I'm shocked at my 5.98 and 11 comments so far. Only my 3rd entry and doing WAY better than my other 2.

Speaking as an American living in Germany i find the pics of churchs BORING. It has to be a really interesting shot to impress me of a church. Guess because here in Europe you see so many.

I think I need a mentor...I just can't seem to consistently get above 6.

Hahahaaa I AM a mentor and I can't stay consistently above 6. Heck, some weeks I can't stay above 5!! But I had a mentor who selflessly taught me everything he could for 2 1/2 years, I feel obligated to pass it on.

I don't think I've ever experienced the "range" in voting that I have in this challenge. The first night, I saw my score dip down to 4.5 and last night it peaked at about 6.2. Right now hovering around 6.09 so all I'm really hoping for is that it stays above the 6.0 mark.

Heh... I had one that started at 4 and ended up with a ribbon. Now THAT'S a range! It's not gonna happen this time, though...

I've found it extremely hard to vote this challenge. A "Holy Place" is so personal. What I find "holy" is not what someone else may find as holy, and some things others find holy are not what I would ever call holy. Did anyone else have this problem when voting?

When the shot wasn't obviously of a church or some other kind of holy ground, I asked myself if the photographer managed to inject a sense of spirituality into the picture. Sometimes they succeeded, and other times they did not.

I just had to post this. I'm really not used to seeing a 6 on that side of the decimal point.

That's great! Looks like a PB to me ;)

Good job...I have 2 in the running right now...both in the 5.0 range! I like the 6's....my best was a 7.2 and it was exciting watching it.

good luck

I am kinda bummed...I just cannot score this challenge. I tried looking at the images but could not even get through an entire page of thumbs.
