I have a Rebel XT now, but I find I just don't use it for snapshots or when I go on ATV trips, so I'm looking for something a little more pocket-able.

I'm just wondering what you guys suggest as the best bang for the buck? And ultimately the best picture quality. I'm thinking of a Canon Digital Elph SD300 or 400. But I'm wondering if I could go cheaper and get almost the same quality of pic from a casio or sony.... It would be a bonus if I could find an ultra compact that takes CF, as I already have lots of memory for the Rebel.

Your opinions are appreciated!!

I just bought a Canon A540 for my daughter and I must say it is exceedingly good, small to carry, light-weight, and you can change many of the settings to your liking (if you read the manual, but being men we don't do that sort of thing do we?)
