All the talk about making or not making comments on the submissions seems to have made a difference. For my Right Angles and Inside Looking Out submissions, I have received 13 comments on each. This is great. Thank you to all you commenters :)

I've gotten 10 comments on mine. This is a step in the right direction!

I wish I would get some...I am here to learn and while I know I have a long way to go I am stuck with silence.

ON desolation, I've received 50+ votes and no comments. I wish that if you don't like my picture or like my picture you'd let me know why. especially when you don't like it. How am I suppose to learn and improve when I don't get any feedback except for a number?

I've had 50+ votes on my desolation picture, and ONE comment! :( I haven't started voting yet (I had to kill a worm first!), but when I do, I will leave comments on half (or more) of your pictures (that's about 115 comments)

Sincerely, Christy

Wow, that would be awesome Christy! I have 50 votes and one comment on Desolation, but I've only recieved one or two comments for the last few entries. I guess it's just the luck of the draw, since everyone else seems to be getting quite alot of them. Well, as long as people are stepping up on the commenting, it should get back around sooner or later.

I don't know how others approach voting, but I like to vote on all, adjust to make sure the scores are balanced once they are grouped, and then I go through and add commments.

I actually go through the images a second time a day or 2 after my initial votes. I add comments if I have one and change scores as needed. BTW, 70 votes and still 1 comment.

when there are 200+ images, it can get tiring to comment on all of them.

I commented on all 251 pictures from the "Right Angles" challenge. I currently have 101 votes and 3 comments on "Desolation".This is my first entry so I was hoping for a lot of comments. Currently have about a 5.00 so 50 people gave me 1's and 50 gave me 10's. I guess :)

Yeah, thanks for the comment faidoi! I've stepped up my commenting alot actually. Unfortunatly for me, I'm at 99 votes and only one comment so far. I really appreciate the one I have though :)

What's the average amount of votes one gets and how many have comments attached to them? Anybody.
08/14/2003 09:16:50 AM · #17
I get 10-12 comments, and they are mostly complemenary but my scores are low. Not that I care too much, the comments are fun. Mine in Desolation is somewhat humorous, although to some shocking.

I averaged seven comments on my first three challenges, and have five on my fourth submission in the Desolation challenge. Most are favorable, and a few are useful. Two of the five comments for desolation are poking fun at my title which I'm having a good time with. I can't wait until the voting is over so I can explain the title, because its actually quite correct.

I started out to comment on every entry in Desolation and I have only managed slightly under half...that being said I am still waiting for comments. I couldn't decide on my entry (my reject is in my portfolio - "caged") and I think I made a bad choice - I still need people to send me in better dirctions.
