Hi all, my wife inma and me are going to London in May, concretely from 13 to 15.
We would love meeting somebody there, to have a talk, to know each other in person, to have a tea, or a beer, or anything you want (even to take a photograph or two, LOL).
We are going to a jazz concert on 13th by Sonny Rollins. We are going with a friend of us that's living there, and we can arrange our agenda to meet with any of you that like to.

Please let us know if you can...

I'm not around on the Saturday but should be around for the other days... would be happy to meet up - drop me an email and we can talk about it.

Where will you actually be staying?

Thanks Dave, I've just send her an e-mail.

EDIT: oops, too slow...

The 13 is our UK wedding reception but I/we might be able to meet up with you on the 14th or 15th. It depends on wether we already have a place by then or not. In any case, keep in touch and I'll be able to make more concrete plans closer to the date.

Hi June, it would be very nice to meet both of you. It seems nobody can on saturday, so it would be fine another of the days. Don't worry if you cannot come, but it would be wonderful. We will mke more concrete plans when the dates are nearer.

We are so happy we can meet some DPCers in the real world...LOL.

Anybody else?

I'll be in town across those dates - though I'll be in the middle of Evita and pretty busy: might make it out for an evening beer - and the 14th is my birthday, too, but there may be plans for that that I don't know of.

OK, time of the trip is coming. This weekend we will be in London. As proposed Kavita, it would be nice for us to go for a drink on the 14th. Anybody else want to come? We'll be very happy to meet any of you that can come.

Yes, who can come???
05/10/2006 10:43:04 AM · #12
As Chiqui posted a while back, we're busy Saturday but Sunday is still available, so we're both happy to come along for a drink etc :o) Someone pick a time & place! ;o)

That would be perfect, Manic. In that way you can add two more to your list of DPCers meet.
About time and place, we will be by the British museum, but we can find any address you want.

Hey Álex. 14th sounds good. What time are you guys planning to meet up?
05/10/2006 12:00:56 PM · #15
Would people prefer drinks or a meal?
05/10/2006 12:13:17 PM · #16
We are open to everything. As you preffer.
Welcome, Steven...

As it's a bit of a trip down to central London for me (about 45-60 mins depending on tube performance) I'd be up for meeting for a meal...

I'm open to either lunch or dinner, whichever suits people most...

I'd be happy to suggest and book somewhere once we know when and how many...

Very good. We can meet for dinner for example. We can have a meal with you even if the others preffer to have a drink. It's so nice you come to meet us from a long way...

Alex, oh no problem coming in - I live in North London and come into the centre of town at least a few days a week either for work (I'm a freelancer so it varies) or to meet friends as I have several friends who live in all corners of London.

Dinner it is then...

Do you fancy Chinese (I know a nice one in China Town, Manic and June know it too as I arranged a GTG there once) or would you prefer Italian, Thai, French? Give me an idea of preferences and I'll suggest somewhere.

You're great Kavita. We would love going to a Thai, because in our zone in Spain we have not many opportunities to go to this kind of places, but if you preffer Chinese would be perfect for us.
Thanks for arranging all this.

Hello everybody!
I am Inma, Alex'wife. I am really delighted about meeting DPCers. I am not so active as you in taking pictures, but I share a great interest about it.
Thanks Kavita for giving the support arranging practical things.
So, it is going to be a good meeting, by now, those are in the list: Kavita, Chiqui, Manic, Srichmond, Álex and myself
e301 said he wanted to come, we will PM him to find out if he can finally join the meeting

Anyone else wants to join us?

I'm certainly in town, but it is my birthday that day, and I have a strong suspicion my SO has something planned, so don't expect me! I'd be glad to be kept up to date with arrangements though, just in case my suspicions are groundless.

05/10/2006 06:19:09 PM · #23
Alex, I can find a Thai no problem but it wouldn't be a personal recommendation as I don't know any specific places centrally - I happen to know a good Chinese place in China Town.

But I'd be happy to find a Thai place... no problem!

Hi Kavey: no problem, then better we go to a Chinese. It's perfect for us, as you know a good one.
Very nice.

OK, let's meet at Gerrard's Corner, a chinese restaurant in China Town - corner of Gerrard Street and Wardour Street.

Looks like there will be 7 of us...

Kavita and hub (Ganders), Chiqui, Manic, Srichmond, Álex and Imagine

If everyone confirms, I'll go ahead and make a booking - is 6pm OK?
