Guys

How come you can only post an image to one of the competitions and not both??

Their exclusive challenges. You are only allowed to submit to one, not both. That's why they're called exclusive.

We used to have only ONE open challenge, but the number of submissions got too big, so a second one was introduced to keep the numbers under control (somewhat).

Cheers!

Sorry that i didnt understand this use of exclusive!!

Now i have to decide which one i want to submit??? ohhhh.....

Cheers!

If they are both of equal quality, the "new" challenge has WAY fewer submissions than the "old" challenge, so your odds are better there...

Yeah, i have seen that! I think that the older one is slightly better! The pic i took for the new one turned out to be slightly blurred when i got home which is a shame! Oh well!!!! Lets see how i do in the old amongst the probable 3 million pictures of old people!!!

I just put in a beautiful "new" submission. Here's hoping for the best. :)

I took a bit of a borderline shot for this one... It's in old, but i'm sure I'll get some comments that I'm in the wrong challenge... anong others ;-)

I'm in for something new, here's hoping that it can get a high enough score to help us win in the WPL this week. Yeah I know, it's a big dream against the people from Iceland and their Color Studio Portraits.

I have an update button itch - I may go out tonight and shoot something new (or old)...
04/18/2006 06:46:13 PM · #12
I got nothing either!!! :/

I'm still in the Photo tournet too, and would hate myself if I didn't even submit anything for the next round. I just went out and took a desperation shot hoping that I can turn it into something using Photoshop! :/

I am gonna try when I get home!

I guess it's a good thing I have something then huh? For it to matter though it will have to be better than my portrait shot. I would be ecstatic if it did - add another 6.0+ score to my profile - but there are alot of entries into old and you never know what voters are going to like.

My approach for Something New was to shoot something that is new to me, which is how the previous challenges for "Something New" were about. Of course since there is no challenge description for this one instead of allowing MORE leeway the voters will probably allow less.

i have no shot either. i'm tapped out and overworked ;(

but i think i'll still be alive and kicking in the MS Challenge unless Riggs has another 6.8 or better. My Candid image is doing well believe it or not. i guess i'll have to shoot somethign for tonight.

good luck guys!

I waited until the last day, but I shot and entered Something New today. I had a ton of ideas for Something Old - but seems everyone else does too. So I decided to challenge myself and force a "new" out of me.
04/18/2006 07:03:23 PM · #19

I took a stab at old, it'll be my first submission.

Wish me luck!

(I think half of the "new" shots will be baby photos. Agree?)

Good Luck on your first entry!

There may be a lot of babies, but not from me. I'm too old (and minus parts) for a new baby, and not a grandma yet (thank goodness).

Well..... 22 layers later I think I may have an image that I can submit!

Thank God for advanced editing!

:p

edit to add: I just noticed that if I had just added 1 litle thing to my pic that it REALLY would have made it an awesome image. It's something really small, but would have a major overall impact so unfortunately I can't add it in PS. Grrrrrrrrrrr.....

[Bill Lumbergh's voice]Yeah... you're probably right.[/Bill Lumbergh's voice]

Ok, just unsubmitted from Something New and now I'm in Something Old. Now I just hope what I shot is old enough to get evaluated on just it's photographic merits. Grrr.

I had lots of ideas for old but the ones I figured were best needed the cooperation of weather, which did NOT happen :( Sooo... I'm in new... but I'm going to get slaughtered because I am such a newbie to photoshop that I don't use layers. Ah well, maybe I'll get some helpful suggestions, and that's what I'm here for (tho' decent scores are nice too!).

I didn't use layers and I'm not a newbie to photoshop so don't get discouraged.
