what sort of photography is your cuppa?
landscapes? seascapes? birds? flora? animals? candids? street? abstract?

have you found your interest?

B/W Street candids and Urban photos are what I enjoy looking at the most, but I'll take photographs of almost anything really. I'm not too fond of studio portraits.

BMX. Though I haven't been able to shoot much of it yet, that's ultimately what I want to shoot most of the time. I also like night photography, and I guess wildlife.

What about you (crayon)?

Definitely people...and in b/w or sepia tones....and interesting people...no glamour shots...they have to be more than just pretty or they can be really ugly I don't mind!

Definitely people. Unfortunately I don't have many models who would like to pose for me, so lots of my portraits are selfportraits. Hope this will change soon.

Street photography is something I'd like to try more often.

Street Photography, mainly photojournalistic... that captures moment in life... I love that most.

Other than that, I prefer shooting fashion because its an exercise of the creative mind. Anything goes, te critical thing being able to capture the right "feel" and "mood"...

I am only an amateur, still learning and shooting... and the best thing about photography is that you will never stop learning... love that.

The photo's that I like to look at most and take involve people.

So Street, Street/Candid Portraiture would top my list but occasionally a non-cliched 'scape can be fun to take.

Well if anybody is interested, if I have to lable myself as a specific kind of photographer it would be a landscape photographer with a special interest in waterfalls, I daydream about publishing a book someday with waterfall pictures but in the last year or so I have really stated to enjoy taking pictures of people, I think I have started to get resonably good at it.

life - animals, plants, people, going about their life. I don't care for set up shots or studio shots but do them when a challange comes up or I have a picture in my head that won't go away. Also don't care too much for landscapes - they're pretty but empty for me.

I like looking at everything so I like viewing all kinds of photography. My favorite is the capture of a moment - surreal, sublime, serendipitious...

portraits - macros - birds (although i'm currently without a long lens)

i love street stuff, but i suck at it myself

blurry snapshots poorly exposed and composed-- oh no, thats not what I like, its what I take :)

what I like to take are any shots with mystery, A street, a person, a landscape or any scene that has some feeling to it, not a telegraphed fear or dread, but a feeling of incompleteness.

I prefer to view scandalously ribald shots.

I really like black and white photographs, preferably with people in them. Landscape or still life just don't seem to interest me.

I'm still trying to figure out peoples fascination with water drop refraction/splash shots? The waterglass bg color refraction thing has me a bit confused too. Please explain?

I understand they can look slick but isn't it a bit gimmicky?

I'm with you there Steve; I took one for the abstract macro challenge, just to see if I found anything through the process of doing it, but ... well, no. I learned something about colour temperature/saturation in processing, which might be helpful, but it came down to a technical exercise.

I'm a street photographer at heart - though that's a broad school. The hope is to combine a sense of human interaction with a sense of the photographic print - so that the emotional and the geometric become the same thing. That, and a good dose of wit.

What I like to look at:
Street (urban) candids ...i guess that is because I live in farm country...it is nice to see something totally different than what I know.

What I like to photograph:
bw candids of children playing or people just as they are.

hmm. thats a hard question to answer. if you see my portfolio you'd see why I say that. I'd have to say my favorite is kids candids but the stuff I have the hardest time with is landscapes...

My favorite thing to photgraph is the sun (sunrise/sunset). I love to take pictures of it. I have one picture of my school football field with a layer of thick fog on the ground and the sun just at the tree line. Everyone at my school loves it.

I'm still searching for my "niche," but my favorite is probably landscapes, although I don't get to do much of it. I enjoy getting away from the hustle and bustle, taking a hike by myself and getting back to nature. Sounds hokey, I know, but there's an inner peace you can find when you're alone in nature doing what you love to do.
