Small world, I was stationed at Bien Hoa Army Base just across from the Air Force Base, and was in the Tactical Operations Command Center as a Radio Operator. we were definitely there at the same time at some point because I was there more than the year tour. I went to the Air Base many times. Mostly to the Movie Theater on any time I had off. Saw 2001 a Space Odyssey there. In 1st Cav, Army.
Small world.

The pride one feels after having served is sometimes overwhelmingly powerful. Not pride for one's self, but rather the pride of a nation, and what it stands for.

Thanks to all of you, past and present, as well as the families that support these service members.

I'm the youngest of 13 kids, and the only one of the six boys that didn't serve (shame on me), but my one sister made up for me:

-My late brother was a CW4 in the Army Corp of Engineers

-Two brothers did 20+ in the Air Force (one was in Viet Nam and the other in Thailand during the Viet Nam Police Action). Both retired as Master Sergeants

-Two other brothers were in the Air Force & Army (then the reserves), respectively

-My sister was in the Army (and I think she's still in the reserves)

-My dad was stationed in England in the Army Air Corp during WWII

-My nephew had impeccable timing and joined the Army on September 8, 2001. He served about a year in Iraq.

*waves, too* (And hi to Cory!) By the way, if anyone is interested in an Iraq GTG, I think we're going to have one in December... :-)

Best part about Veteran's Day (and the Marine Corps birthday - happy birthday, US Marines!) is the really, really good cake at the DFACs.
