See, I'm still a newbie too. I didn't know about F11. Thanks!

It occurs to me that for #14,

14. When you get your DSLR, read the manual. The photographers on this site, who know how to use your camera, are too busy using their own to reiterate what is written in that little book that came with yours.

You should add, "except for Bear_Music, who doesn't have a life and will answer any question whether you want him to or not..."

#whatever is next...

By all means, check the little "helpful" comment box when you receive a comment, no matter what. Even if the commenter leaves random strings of letters and numbers, or says your image sucks, or leaves only a punctuation mark, mark it as helpful. You do not want to destroy the commenter's self esteem by failing to provide proof that you read that which was so important for them to say. ;)

Funny that you bring that up, Robert. Last night, I was also struck with a Website Suggestion.

It's probably been brought up, so I didn't post it:)

We should have a group called "Site Buddies" who can be contacted to give advice pertaining to these subjects. These would be non-judgemental, patient souls who have the time to answer those questions we are now too ashamed to ask.

You were the first person who came to mind, when I thought of this.

Roxanne, I don't like any of your photos, but I am adding you to my favorites. If I had them categorized, I'd put you under "Brilliant!"

...just kidding about your photos. ;-) Don't get your drawers in a wad. :) :D ;-)

edit to add:

...and Helpful!

LOL! No worries, I don't like most of them, either.

It's truly an honor to be among the ranks of your esteemed favorites! And just so you know, I'm not even wearing drawers right now. OOOPs TMI?

Doh! And here I was going to try to focus on getting some work done. :(

What a piece of work! I totally enjoyed it!

Needs to amend a previous appendix...

The forum search feature sucks, but you can use Google's advanced search feature to search dpchallenge.com forums for threads about how much the DPC forum search feature sucks.

CODE #43! //www.dpchallenge.com/forum.php?action=read&FORUM_THREAD_ID=374602

"43. Don’t start a thread complaining about how you left your DSLR in your car and it got stolen. Although it seems to happen once a month, there never seems to be a shortage of people who are willing to take this risk. Make sure your camera is insured by your homeowner’s or renter’s policy. If you insist on getting your camera stolen, please don't torture us with the details of how you left it on your backseat in the mall parking lot."

No, not really crabby...but I do need to get out more and we should set something up. In the meantime....

I will confess to breading Rules #24, #27 and #32 of the "UBG to DPC"

#27 Rulebreakers

#32 Rulebreaker

And, of course, we all know I have no life per Rule #24 Be careful not to let you DPC obsession cause you to neglect your family....

The only thing worse than breaking the rules is not learning from your mistakes....and you can see, I'm a slow learner!

In compliance with Rule # 44....
=0 ;-) ROFLMAO! >:) LOL! %) :-| ROFL!

I didn't say that 'cuz Spell Check wouldn't have caught it.

Maybe this should be a new rule?

There's plenty that I left out. We'll have to go back and amend the whole set once all the feedback comes in.

OMG, I can see it now! All the "regulars" get to a point where we just start quoting the rule #'s and the poor newbies (for whom this was written, in jest) will STILL be out of the loop asking "What's a #15? What did I do wrong?..."

No worries. Just like Chit Rabbinton, this too shall fade into obscurity;)
