46. Don't post an America flag unless you want a bunch of 1s and 2s.

Wonderful read....

Well done, you hit reality on the head!

47. Do not submit a picture of a figurine/nic-nac/toy. Legos, matchbox cars, and Barbies rarely score well. The exceptions to this rule are woodies and rubber duckies.

Man, I should listen to that song more often. Kinda helps ya get back on track with the important things in life, which I have been neglecting of late.

29. Before you start a thread asking “What is this…?” type "google.com" into your address bar and use that search engine to find out what it is for yourself. That’s what everybody else does whenever someone starts a thread asking “What is this?”.

Brilliant!

26. a. When you get a critique from a critique club member check the comment helpful (even if you disagree with it) as this may be the only way the person who spent at least a half an hour examining and writing about your image will know you even read the comment.

Looks like this would be a good start to a Tutorial!

Can we refer to the rule numbers, when posting and commenting?
04/07/2006 10:02:36 AM · #39
Excelent!!! Should be in the Tutorial Section!!!
04/07/2006 10:08:24 AM · #40
Excellent and so true.

You may want to combine the DPC'ers Prayer in there somewhere!
:-)

Absolutely wonderful and inspired writing. Truly a masterpiece! Thanks for posting this.

Whew...glad it was well received. Thanks everyone. Even a reply from langdon. I feel so honored!

I was afraid I'd wake up this morning in the Rant section. Hopefully the newbies will realize that this is almost purely autobiographical and tongue-in-cheek. It didn't really take long, since it was a constant purge of things I hold back every time I log on.

Love the appendixes. Please continue to add to this.

Cheers,
Roxanne

A little wine; but I was mostly too busy typing to pick up the glass.

WTG, Roxanne - you're a DPC pro!!!

I agree that this, together with the DPC Prayer, should be presented to newcomers.

Just a little trivia about this song. It was actually an article written by a columnist for the Chicago Tribune. It became popular as an email that made the Internet rounds saying it was Kurt Vonnegut's key note speech at a Harvard graduation (or some other Ivy League school, I can't remember which one). Baz turned it into a song and sealed its place in music history.

As for your article greatandsmall - OUTSTANDING!!! You get a 10 and immediate Fav from me!! :-)

This is a riot. I was rolling on the floor by the time I reached rule #3. By the end, I was trying not to piss myself.

They ought to give you a special ribbon for writing this!

Very good stuff. A second vote to sticky this in General Discussion.

I'm off to start a new thread about why my image that is currently in voting is doing so poorly. I will naturally post the original unedited as well as the submission full size in the thread as well as a couple of outtakes.

REALLY. SERIOUSLY!

I'm gonna do it. Now.

Ok, NOW.

or not.

Great work and thanks for the effort!

PS, I also thought of the f11 suggestion. What a great way to view those super-stunning pictures in the textures section.

WOO.
