Hi guys
being new at the site (and at the forum), I was really wondering why my picture was getting so low rates and why there were comments complaining about it completely missing the challenge. When I started to rate the pics of the rest of the people, I suddenly realized my mistake. Can you believe I understood "right angles" in the sense of "proper angles". Shit, now I cry of what a stupid man I am :), hahaha.

ok, now I understand the rates could be even worse because it does miss the challenge completely (even if it was good for the 'proper angles' challenge, and technically was a rather solid picture)

Wow, this'll be a long week for you, huh. Sorry about that, but at least you seem to have a good attitude about the whole thing! Hang in there!

Welcome - few accept the baptism by fire in such a jolly tone, as has been said countless times don't get too emotional about your scores they are just that, nothing less nothing more :)

Operative keyword is enjoy!!

So true!

This is also my first challenge (right angles). I am a novice photgrapher and so far my pic is in the 4.4 range. I took the picture earlier in the day not knowing about this challenge, but I figured it might have a place there.

This is going to be a long week indeed! :) But I look forward to learn the fine art of photography! :)

Ok, thanks for the words of support.
may be I could have taken a self-portrait picture yesterday morning and submit it to the desolation challenge ;).

Someone had the same idea for me for missing the submission of my right angles picture by about a minute! Then I thought I could take a picture of myself at the moment they told me I had missed that opportunity for desolation. But then I missed that opportunity - and the desolation keeps building! By the weekend I ought to be an absolute wreck!
